SHIRTS

  • Can you change or alter any images, like putting a colored border around the edges or adding text?

    YES. We recently removed the Custom area of our online store due to costs associated with setup for one-time custom orders, but we can still meet most fans' needs.  Consult our Custom Page.  We can modify any images in millions of ways, from borders to artistic filters to adding the figure's name or yours (or any other text in a variety of fonts, colors, and styles) to the shirt.  We can do a lot of very cool things at no extra charge, but if your modification is one that would take a long time, or uses several images, we may have to charge for it (ie. separate text counts as an image).  We would let you know the total cost before you finalize your order

    If you have a question about customization, or want to know if your idea would cost extra, just Click Here and fill out the form to send us a complete and detailed description of your concept (including approximate image size and placement on the shirt), and we will let you know if there would be any extra charge

  • Can you put a Devastator [or whatever] on the front and the six Constructicons [or whatever] on the back?

YES. Any image you see in the Custom Gallery can be placed anywhere on the shirt, and at any size from 1 inch across to 8 inches across. We have recently removed the custom section from our store due to setup costs associated with one-time orders, but it is still a possibility

Use our Wearables Request form to send us a full description of your ideas.  PLEASE be very clear and descriptive.  We will let you know if it is possible and, if so, what the extra charges would be

  • I'm a big [or small] person. Can I get anything larger [or smaller] than what's in your store?

YES. However, because of the added expense to us of purchasing shirts at lesser quantities for a special order, there is an increase in the price. This increase ranges anywhere from $3.00 (for child-size small) to $5.00 (for XXX-Larges and above). The actual price increase may vary depending on supply, so ask us about this first before ordering.  Use our Wearables Request form for orders of this nature.

  • How long does it take to get the shirt?

This depends on our workload. If we have a sudden rush of orders to fill, or if we are working to supply a huge order for a convention or party, the turnover rate could be up to a couple weeks. However, we are almost always able to ship shirts out within 3 days of receiving payment. If yours is a custom image order that takes a lot of work to do, though, the turnaround will vary depending on the complexity of your order.

  • Can I get a color other than white or light gray for a T-shirt?

Sorry, but due to costs and setup times Botcollector can no longer print on shirts other than what is available in the store.  We add new shirt styles on occasion, however, so keep checking back at the T-Shirt shop to see what's new!

  • Can I get a different kind of shirt, like a hockey jersey [or whatever]?

Probably, but again, this would be subject to additional costs due to our buying it individually for a special order. The price would depend on what kind of garment you're looking for. Also, there are several different kinds of outerwear that can't be imaged, so contact us with what you're looking for, and we'll let you know if it's possible and/or how much it would cost.

  • Can I get a Bluestreak [or some other image not in the Custom Gallery]?

Right now, if the image is not in the gallery, we can't do it (right away). However, we are constantly working to add images, so the one you're looking for could be next in line.  Keep checking the Custom Page for new images added to the gallery

  • Are these just iron-ons? If not, how do you make them?

NO NO NO, these are NOT iron-ons. These shirts are made with the latest industry-standard professional sportswear imaging equipment and supplies. These shirts are made the same way most of the imaged clothes you see in stores are, and are of professional quality. R.I.D. has invested over $12,000 to make sure that we're able to put out a fine product that everyone will love, and that will look just as good and last just as long as any other imaged clothing (sometimes much better)

  • Are your shirts cotton? Are they undershirts?

Unless you make a special order for something different, R.I.D. uses either 100% cotton or 50/50 blends. Our shirts are the highest quality OUTER wear shirts. Ever hear of Hanes outerwear? Anvil? Jerzeez? Those are the guys we use; top of the line outer sportswear

  • Can I send you a special image I'd like to use?

YES. However, keep in mind that we can only produce as good an image as you send us. We are capable of redrawing a lot of images, and fixing them up if they're too grainy, but this is not always possible, and if we had to spend a lot of time on it, we'd have to charge extra.  If it's a cool image that we can use to add to the gallery, however, there would be no extra charge for us needing to manipulate and/or fix the image. What we typically ask for is images that are LEAST 600 dpi if they are emailed, and at LEAST 3 inches across if they are snail-mailed to us as hardcopy.

  • Can I save money by sending you the shirts to use?

Probably not. We have sportswear contacts that we buy from in bulk, and chances are we get our shirts cheaper than you would at a store. Plus, even if you got some super clearance deals, you have to remember the postage or shipping charge to send it to us, which we can almost guarantee would make your shirts more expensive than doing it through us.

  • Would you accept Transformers [or other transforming robot toys] in exchange for shirts?

This is a possibility. However, since we are almost always over budget, and since not ALL of us at R.I.D. cherish Transformers over everything else (like paying bills), it has to be a pretty sweet deal. What it basically comes down to on our end is that the ones of us who really love Transformers would take the trade, and pay the others for the shirts, so it's kind of like us buying them from you anyway. If you have really good stuff, contact us us and we'll talk.

  • If I send you a personal item of clothing [like a denim jacket or shorts], can you put these images on that?

YES. In fact, we encourage people to "Transformerize" their favorite shirt, jacket, or whatever. However, we can only do this if the clothing area to be imaged is at LEAST 50/50 cotton. The tag stating the cotton content must be present on the article of clothing; we don't want to mess up anyone's favorite threads, see? The cost of each image would be $12.00, plus the shipping charge of returning it to you.

  • What's the procedure for ordering a shirt?

We have integrated an online shopping cart for easier shirt shopping.  From within the online store, you can pick your shirts and use the shopping cart to submit your order.  When the order is submitted, you receive an automatic email confirmation with total.   When we receive your order, we email you a separate confirmation, including  where/how to send payment. Once you receive our second confirmation, you can send payment. We'll let you know when it arrives, and when we ship out your order.

  • If I order a lot, can I get a discount?

YES. Discounts begin after 5 shirts. The amount of the discount will depend on how many shirts after 4 you get. Use our Wearables Request form to contact  us with how many you'll buy, and we'll talk about your discount.

  • Do you do other images besides Transformers?

YES. Our site is dedicated to the Transformers mainly because most of us love them so much. We can probably do just about anything you can imagine imagewise. The price of non-gallery images depends on how hard they are to do. Use our Wearables Request form to describe what you're thinking of getting, and we'll let you know if we can do it and how much it'll cost (PLEASE be very descriptive)

TOYS

  • How long does it take to get my figures?

Botcollector is usually able to ship your order out within 3 days of the payment clearing at our local financial institution. Remember that personal checks and many kinds of money orders must be held for a wait period by banks before they are cleared (typically between 3 and 5 business days, but sometimes 10 business days, like for foreign checks).  Pre-order delivery time is dependant on the manufacturer's release date

  • Can I make installment payments on an order?

Sorry, but sue to difficulties in the past, Botcollector can no longer accept installment payments for ANY order

  • Can you put an item on hold for me?

Sorry, but with the amount of people we often have inquiring about the same figures, it would be impossible to maintain updated listings for people holding and canceling, or forgetting they've ordered, etc. Please be sure you will purchase the item before making an order. If you have questions about the item that you want answered before you make a commitment, feel free to Ask us. Be sure to check the store's description and pictures for the item first, though; your answer may be there

  • Do you have other figures for sale that aren't in the listings?

Right now, if the item's not in the sale listings, we don't have one for sale. We do often have figures that haven't been added to the listings yet, but that is because we haven't put a full description together. When we have an item ready for sale, we put it on the page. Check back every week or so for new additions, or join our mailing list (Click here) to be notified immediately of significant additions or changes to the inventory

  • Can Botcollector let me know when you find something I'm looking for?

Yes.  You can join our mailing list to be notified of many different Botcollector additions and changes.  If you are looking for one particular figure, however, remember that others may have joined our list looking for the same thing, and we can't guarantee that you will be first in line to receive an item we have added

  • How do I know Botcollector is on the level?

We've strived to maintain an impeccable reputation on the Internet. However, we understand people's concerns with being taken advantage of in online commerce. You can check our feedback on Ebay (our user ID is "tflover"), or you can email us specifically for a list of email references from people we've sold to before who have agreed to be contacted by potential customers for a reference. We feel VERY confident that you'll be happy with our service and our figures. We are constantly receiving emails from customers praising us for our service and our dedication to the Transformers fan community.

  • Do you trade?

Botcollector rarely trades through the Internet. It's not an impossibility, but the deal has to be pretty sweet. Basically what a trade comes down to is one of us (a member of R.I.D.) pays the other members for the figure to trade, and then makes the trade with you for himself.  You can offer us a trade using the form Here.

PAYMENT

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    The new online shopping cart allows for you to choose from Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard only), Paypal (payment can be made automatically via click-through checkout), Check (including cashiere's, personal, or bank draft), Money Order, or Cash (which is NOT recommended).  Remember that all payments must be in United States currency. If you are not living in the U.S., you must ask your financial institution for the money order or check to be filled out specifically in U.S. dollars.

  • How do I pay when I order?

Botcollector's second MANUAL order confirmation email will include your total (including shipping) and the payment instructions.  Payment is handled as follows:

- Credit Card:  The processing information that you submit when ordering is used to automatically complete your order.  If the credit card is denied, you will be notified and your order cancelled.  If you are using a credit card for overseas shipping, you will need to verify via email that our total, including shipping, is to be charged to your card (this permits international customers to assess shipping costs before being committed to the order)

- Paypal:  There is a button available during the checkout process that will automatically click-through your payment.  You will still receive a MANUAL confirmation email from Botcollector  that confirms your payment was successful and your order processed

- Check/Money Order/Cash:  Your second MANUAL confirmation email will include your total and the address to which to send payment

ONLINE CART

  • The cart's not working. What's the deal?
Your browser may not support forms or shopping cart cookies. If this is the case, you can use our question form to explain your situation, and we'll handle your order with email. Be sure to include ALL of the information that the checkout process asks for:
  • Name
  • COMPLETE Address
  • Email Address
  • Item(s) you're ordering, including any numbers that are part of the names in the listings
  • Date you intend to send payment and how

***DO NOT SUBMIT CREDIT CARD INFORMATION VIA EMAIL***  If you intend to make an email order and pay with credit card, notate that in your emailed order; we will make arrangements to process your card information in a secure manner (ie. phone or fax)

  • I got two order confirmation emails.  Am I paying for the order twice?

NO.  Botcollector's cart system sends an automatic form order confirmation to you just to let you know that the order was placed.  Botcollector staff checks the order to ensure item availability, correct payment information, and verified shipping costs (especially for international orders), and sends a second, MANUAL confirmation detailing all necessary information (ie. shipping totals, address to ship to, approximate ship date, etc.).  You should be sure to read through the second manual confirmation from the Sales Team to make sure all the info is correct.

  • I submitted my order several days ago, but haven't received a confirmation. What's the holdup?

If you haven't gotten a confirmation email from Botcollector, you probably entered your Email address incorrectly on the order form. Remember that if the Email isn't entered right, we have no way of contacting you. Also, many ISP companies that supply your email service (ie. Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc.) have limits on how much email you are allowed to receive, and some SPAM blockers may perceive Botcollector's automatic confirmation as SPAM.  If you have not received a confirmation from us in 2 days, check your inbox limits and SPAM filters.  Then resubmit your order, and be sure to enter all information correctly.

  • This checkout process is confusing.  Why do I have to verify my order twice?

We can't expect everyone to be entirely 'Net savvy.  Due to the nature of collectibles and online commerce, we want to make sure you verify your order item(s).  We have included a second Order Review process to ensure that you didn't order something twice, or forget to remove something from your cart before checking out

SHIPPING

  • What shipping service do you use?
Botcollector ships all packages with U.S. postal service.  For domestic deliveries we use Priority mail with delivery confirmation.  For international orders we use Global Airmail.  We will not use alternate shipping services, but we can accommodate you if you need further protection for you package, such as insurance, etc.
  • Is shipping included in the price of the store items?
No.  Shipping is separate, and is included as a separate charge item in your cart during your checkout.  If the destination is overseas, then you should pick "overseas, shipping calculated later" from the payment options during checkout.  Since our cart system is not geared to calculate overseas shipping, Botcollector staff manually calculates it and includes the shipping cost with your MANUAL order confirmation. 
  • How much is shipping?

Shipping is assessed by our online cart system automatically for domestic orders.  ***At the end of 2002, the United States Postal Service changed their rate policies to take into account not only weight and size of the package, but now the destination as well.  Our online cart is currently set up to charge significantly less than the post office's current rate for domestic destinations, but when we change it we will be following the U.S. postal service rate tables.  We do not charge extra handling fees, only approximate actual postage.  Overseas customers are given the total including shipping charge with their second MANUAL order confirmation.  For those who like doing the legwork themselves, you can find approximate shipping rates by using the United States Postal service website:  www.usps.com.  Use their rate calculator for international shipping (you will need to know size and weight of the package).  Remember that Botcollector always uses Global Airmail for 4 to 7 day delivery unless requested otherwise.

  • How long does shipping take?

Priority mail typically takes 3 to 5 business days to reach any destination in the U.S.  Most Global Airmail deliveries take between 4 to 7 business days.  These are not guarantees, however, but estimates provided by the U.S. postal service.  Delivery times may vary outside the influence of Botcollector.

OTHER COMMON QUESTIONS

  • What's the difference between R.I.D. or R.obots I.n D.isguise and Botcollector?

Well, recently Hasbro released a new series of toys in their Transformers Universe called Robots In Disguise.  However, since 1996, R.obots I.n D.isguise is the parent company of Botcollector, Toy Culture, and a few other ventures that our fellow Transformers fans haven't YET seen (many interesting new developments coming soon, however:>)).

The staff roster of R.obots I.n D.isguise has changed slightly in the past  few months, and while the company name remains the defining label of our little group of hardcore Transformers fans, the new online T-shirt and figure business is conducting transactions under the name and website Domain of Botcollector.com.  For all of our past and current customers, fear not; you are still dealing with the same group of considerate, attentive, and true Transformers fans, and there will be no reduction in our quality of services, correspondence, or delivered items.
