In making the Total Transformers Guide, Botcollector has poured countless hours into research, graphics development, data acquisition, and programming.  However, there is still much to do.  While the Guide is as complete as we can make it, we still need the help of all of our fellow collectors and fans to acquire missing toy images, instructions, and Tech Specs.

What can you do?:

We really need to make contact with someone who:

  • Reads and speaks English and Japanese FLUENTLY, for help translating foreign instructions and Tech Specs

  • Has an extensive (complete would be great) collection of Japanese and/or European Transformers

  • Has a complete collection of the post-1988 series and  Generation 2 series of Transformers

Credit will always be given where it is due.  Click the category to see what we need for each:

Real Data:

Our Real Data section has pictures of the actual figure itself in real life.  As you can tell from our Guide, we have a MINIMUM of 5 pictures of each figure, all on a white background.  We need to either have the figures shipped to us so that we can conduct the photo session on site (preferred, and we pay for shipping both ways if we can get 10 or more figures at a time), or have the contact conduct it and send us the results.  The specifics are as follows:

  •

Front of box, straight-on and slightly elevated angle as shown

  •

Vehicle (or non-robot) mode, from above and to the right as shown

  •

Robot mode, from above and to the right as shown

  •

Accessories, straight-on from above as shown

  •
Face of robot, close and straight-on as shown

The following picture angles are not vital to the Guide itself, but we would like to get them for use with future projects and reference:

  •

Back of box, straight-on as shown (clear and close enough to see number of robot points)

  •

Vehicle (or non-robot) mode, lower elevation and less to the right as shown

  •

Front full robot, straight-on as shown

  •

Robot mode utilizing all accessories (attack mode), from above and to the right as shown

  •
Robot mode utilizing all accessories (attack mode) from straight on front as shown

  •
Vehicle (or non-robot) mode utilizing all appropriate accessories (attack mode), from above and to the right as shown.

  •
A pose shot (if figure is at all poseable), any angle best showing action.  Wheeljack's not very poseable, so this is an example pose shot of Beast Wars Dinobot

  •
Any interesting features or cool parts highlighted (opening doors, cool details, etc.)

Naturally, as with any photo shoot, several pictures should be taken for each shot so we can use the best ones.  In addition, any pics you may think of that would be good to take are welcome as well; we can never have too many pictures of Transformers figures.  As you can see, this is a pretty involved task, and can get kind of complicated for some figures (like Devastator, G2 Smokescreen, etc.).  If you think you can help, but want further details, just use our contact form to ask for more info.
